AutoCAD® Civil 3D® software provides civil engineers, designers, sur
veyors, and drafters with a comprehensive AutoCAD®-based package for the
design, drafting, and management of a wide range of civil engineering project
types, including site development and road design. Using an industry-proven, d
ynamic engineering model, AutoCAD Civil 3D links design and production draftin
g, greatly reducing the time it takes to implement design changes and evaluate
multiple scenarios. A change made in one place instantly updates an entire pr
oject, helping you complete projects faster, smarter, and more accurately. All
team members work from the same consistent, up-to-date model, so they stay sy
nchronized throughout all project phases.

Position (Shanghai): Quality Assurance Engineer for Civil product

Responsibilities:
• Creates plans to test features or whole products at the user interface
level, including functional tests, performance tests, workflow tests, install
tests, globalization and interoperability tests. Documents test design, test
plans, and test results. Creates test plans or test matrices that test a parti
cular feature and the functionality related to that feature. Ensures that test
plans are usable by others. Participates in test plan reviews with rest of QA
and development team.
• Manually executes test plans to find defects in features or products.
Isolates and confirms defects and works with development to prioritize defects
and fix them. Logs defects in database for tracking and reporting. Receives d
efect reports from other sources (customers, product support, newsgroups, Appl
ications Engineers) and confirms and tracks specific issues for use by develop
ment.
• Writes test cases based on real production work, to test individual fu
nctionality or entire program. Runs testing matrix and develops test cases bas
ed on real world applications of program. May create scripts for automation. P
rovides test cases to SQA Engineer to automate. Uses test methodologies such a
s, but not limited to, black box, VBA, LISP, or light automation.
• Participates in feature team meetings throughout the product developme
nt life cycle. Works with development team on spec design to proactively recog
nize and prevent issues from developing. Tests features to ensure they will in
teract correctly with other features in production. Provides input into featur
e design, in particular on feasibility of features from customer perspective.
Simulates user experience and gives feedback on design improvements to Product
Designers. In some cases, may help write product specifications.
• Estimates, plans, schedules and coordinates software testing tasks for
themselves and others. Participates in software estimation process, such as D
elphi. Estimates resource time and costs.
• Monitors customer newsgroups to detect defects in production software.
Uses knowledge of product and users to provide feedback to Product Management
regarding severity and customer impact of defects on report in order to prior
itize for fix. May contact customers directly in order to collect feedback or
resolve product issues during the beta cycle.
• Provides feedback to Tech Pubs on how features work for integration in
to product documentation (user guides, manuals, tutorials). Reviews and tests
documentation for clarity. Provides input to ReadMe file content to address ex
isting defects and issues in installed software.

Requirements:
• Strong knowledge of Quality Assurance methodologies and the Software D
evelopment Life Cycle
• Strong knowledge of Civil Engineering domain knowledge
• General knowledge of C++ (or other programming language)
